This book made my heart hurt!
When we first meet Anna, her commitment phobic boyfriend of eight years is dropping her off at the airport. She’s about to fly to the Maldives to be a private tutor to sixteen year old T.J. He is in remission and needs to make up for all the school he missed.
After a long flight from Chicago to Male, there seems to be some issue with their connecting flight, so they have to catch a small seaplane to get to their final destination. About half way into their trip, their pilot Mick suffers a heart attack and the plane crashes into the ocean. Anna and T.J. survive but Mick does not. They wash up on a deserted island and as they have no kind of survival training, almost die of dehydration....
